Over the last few months, I’ve been working on a companion podcast to my upcoming book, Liturgies for Resisting Empire—which comes out in just two weeks!
This podcast isn’t a chapter-by-chapter walkthrough or a recap of what’s already in the book (because that’s no fun—and I really do want you to read it!). Instead, think of it as a space to pause and reflect, a companion on the journey.
Whether you listen before diving into the book or alongside it, my hope is that it helps you slow down and sit with some of the questions this work invites. Because hearing is different from reading. Sometimes a voice, a pause, or a question spoken aloud stirs something the page alone can’t. So each episode will explore a theme, an idea, or a question from Liturgies for Resisting Empire, wrestling with what it means to live with integrity in a world bent toward domination. Together, we’ll name the ways empire seeps into our daily lives—the myths it tells, the loyalties it demands—and imagine what resistance might look like in our bodies, our communities, and our prayers. You’ll also hear clips and insights from some of your favorite thinkers!
